Dubai Police’s ‘On-the-Go’ Initiative Transforms Service Delivery, Reduces Costs Dramatically

Dubai Police’s revolutionary “On-the-Go” initiative has set a new benchmark for efficiency in government services, cutting service delivery times from 24 hours to an impressive 2 minutes while slashing customer costs by a remarkable 78%. Launched in collaboration with leading fuel providers such as Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), ADNOC Distribution, and Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat), the initiative is a shining example of innovation meeting practical needs.

Enhancing Efficiency and Customer Experience

The program aligns with the UAE government’s Zero Bureaucracy initiative, which aims to eliminate red tape and optimize public services. Captain Majid bin Saeed Al Kaabi, Head of the On-the-Go team, credited the initiative’s success to the collaborative efforts of partners, team members, and beneficiaries.

“Our focus on streamlining processes and simplifying customer journeys has yielded transformative results,” said Al Kaabi. “The initiative demonstrates Dubai’s leadership in delivering seamless, cutting-edge security services.”

By addressing key pain points, the initiative has transformed service delivery for motorists, making it faster, more affordable, and accessible at over 130 participating petrol stations.

Key Features of the ‘On-the-Go’ Initiative

Dubai Police’s On-the-Go initiative provides six essential services:

  1. Minor Traffic Accident Reports – Fast-tracked report issuance for minor accidents.
  2. Unknown Party Accident Reports – Streamlined documentation for accidents involving unidentified parties.
  3. Lost and Found Services – Quick and convenient management of lost items.
  4. Vehicle Repair Assistance – Simplified procedures for repair authorization.
  5. Police Eye Service – Facilitating the community’s role in reporting suspicious activities.
  6. E-Crime Reporting – Easy access to report cybercrimes.

How It Works

The process has been simplified to ensure efficiency and convenience. At participating petrol stations, trained staff assist motorists by collecting essential documents such as driving licenses, vehicle registrations, and insurance certificates. Photos of vehicle damage are taken, and accident reports are issued on the spot, eliminating the need for a trip to the police station.

For those requiring physical copies, the process is just as seamless, saving time and resources.

Strategic Impact

The initiative not only benefits motorists but also contributes to Dubai’s broader goals of enhanced governance and operational excellence. By reducing costs from AED 1,927 to AED 420, Dubai Police has proven that innovation can coexist with affordability.

Captain Al Kaabi reiterated the team’s commitment to continuous improvement, stating, “The initiative reflects our unwavering dedication to achieving extraordinary results that align with the UAE’s vision of a smarter and more efficient government.”
