Dubai continues to solidify its commitment to the welfare of its citizens with a groundbreaking initiative approved by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The new Dh5.4 billion housing project aims to empower young Emiratis by offering over 3,000 residential units, setting a strong foundation for future families and fostering community stability.
Prioritizing Young Families and Marriage
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the primary goal of the initiative: to encourage young Emiratis to marry, establish stable families, and improve their quality of life. The project will prioritize beneficiaries of the Dubai Weddings initiative, which is designed to ease the financial and logistical burdens often associated with marriage.
The allocated homes will be strategically distributed across various prime locations in Dubai, including:
- Latifa City: 1,181 homes
- Wadi Al Amardi: 432 homes
- Makan, Hatta: 200 homes
- Al Yalayis 5: 606 homes
- Al Awir 1: 398 homes
- Oud Al Muteena: 120 homes
- Countryside and rural areas: 67 homes
This distribution ensures accessibility for Emirati families across urban, suburban, and rural settings.
Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme
The housing project is an integral part of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, a broader initiative aimed at promoting family stability and enhancing work-life balance. Launched on January 4, this program provides financial, social, and educational support to young families. Key features include:
- A reduced monthly premium of Dh3,333 for housing loans for those earning up to Dh30,000.
- A 10-day paid marriage leave for Dubai government employees.
- Remote work options on Fridays for mothers during the first year after maternity leave.
Sheikh Mohammed dedicated this year’s Accession Day to his wife, Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum, recognizing her invaluable contributions to his life and Dubai’s progress. He described her as the “pillar of my home” and “spirit of Dubai,” underscoring the importance of strong families in shaping the future.
Building a Brighter Future
In a statement, Sheikh Mohammed reiterated his commitment to supporting citizens, saying, “We will continue to support everything that contributes to the prosperity, stability, and comfort of our citizens.” These words reflect the UAE leadership’s vision of a society built on strong family values, economic security, and cultural harmony.
Sheikha Hind also highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, “Strong families are essential to create a better future. We are committed to fulfilling the aspirations of every Emirati family, ensuring their lasting happiness and stability while empowering them to nurture future generations.”
A Model of Visionary Leadership
The housing project exemplifies Dubai’s forward-thinking governance, seamlessly integrating urban planning with social welfare. By providing young citizens with affordable housing and holistic family support, the UAE continues to pave the way for a prosperous, sustainable future.
