The UAE’s pioneering electric vehicle (EV) charging network, UAEV, is set to roll out its newly introduced tariffs starting January 2025. This development represents a major milestone in the country’s drive towards sustainable and efficient transportation.

Since the announcement of the tariffs in May, UAEV has continued to offer free charging services, ensuring accessibility for all EV users. The upcoming implementation of standardised tariffs—1.2 AED/kWh (plus VAT) for DC chargers and 0.70 AED/kWh (plus VAT) for AC chargers—marks a significant leap forward in creating a transparent, reliable, and scalable charging network.

Empowering EV Users with Advanced Solutions

To elevate the EV ownership experience, UAEV is introducing an innovative mobile application. This app will provide real-time charging station locators, live status updates, and seamless payment options, making EV charging more convenient than ever. Additionally, a dedicated 24/7 call centre will offer users instant support, ensuring smooth operations at all times.

“This marks a transformative step in the UAE’s journey towards sustainable transportation,” said Sharif Al Olama, Chairman of UAEV. “The implementation of standardised tariffs and the launch of user-centric solutions like the UAEV app reflect our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional services to EV drivers.”

Expanding Infrastructure for a Greener Future

Aligned with the UAE’s ambitious Net Zero 2050 Strategy, UAEV is on track to establish a vast network of 1,000 charging stations by 2030. These chargers will be strategically located across urban centres, highways, and transit points, ensuring accessibility for intra-city and inter-city commuters alike.

This extensive network will support the rapid adoption of EVs across the country, contributing to reduced carbon emissions and promoting green mobility. UAEV’s focus on high-speed charging, real-time network monitoring, and strategically placed stations highlights its dedication to fostering a cleaner environment.

Driving Innovation and Sustainability

UAEV’s integrated ecosystem prioritises reliability, accessibility, and innovation, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone in the UAE’s green energy transition. The introduction of these tariffs not only supports operational excellence but also ensures equitable access to EV charging facilities across the nation.

As the UAE continues to champion sustainability and technological advancement, UAEV’s initiatives set a strong foundation for achieving a cleaner, greener, and more connected future.
