Revolutionizing Parking with Smart Technology

Dubai’s iconic BurJuman Mall is embracing innovation by rolling out a ticketless paid parking system that enhances convenience and efficiency for shoppers. This move follows the successful implementation of similar smart parking solutions at Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre, and Dubai Mall. By leveraging Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, the system will automatically capture vehicle license plate numbers, eliminating the need for physical tickets and manual transactions.

How the New Parking System Works

The upcoming ticketless paid parking system at BurJuman Mall will work through ANPR cameras, which will register vehicle plates as they enter and exit. While parking barriers will still be present, motorists won’t need to stop; instead, the barriers will lift automatically, allowing seamless access to the parking area. Payment will be processed through automated kiosks before exiting, ensuring a quick and paper-free transaction.

Find My Car Service and Parking Navigation Upgrades

Alongside the ticketless paid parking system, BurJuman Mall is introducing a ‘Find My Car’ service designed to assist shoppers in locating their parked vehicles effortlessly. The mall is also upgrading parking navigation systems to improve user experience, reducing time spent searching for available spaces.

No Increase in Parking Fees

Despite these advanced upgrades, BurJuman Mall has confirmed that parking fees will remain unchanged. Visitors will continue to enjoy the first three hours of parking for free, with each additional hour costing AED 20. Cinema-goers will receive an additional three hours of complimentary parking upon ticket validation. Parking is also free on Sundays and public holidays. However, overnight parking is strictly prohibited, with a violation penalty of AED 250 per day.

A Step Towards Smart and Sustainable Parking Solutions

The adoption of a ticketless paid parking system is part of Dubai’s broader strategy to embrace smart and sustainable urban mobility solutions. By reducing paper waste and minimizing congestion at exits, this technology-driven approach enhances both environmental responsibility and shopper convenience. With BurJuman Mall now joining the trend, it is expected that more shopping centers across Dubai will soon follow suit.

About BurJuman Mall

One of Dubai’s oldest and most prestigious shopping destinations, BurJuman Mall has been serving residents and tourists since 1991. Spanning over 286,000 sqm, the mall houses a mix of high-end and popular retail stores, a cinema, a hypermarket, and a variety of dining options. Its strategic location, directly connected to the BurJuman Metro Station—Dubai’s busiest metro station—further adds to its appeal.
