Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled “Logisty,” a groundbreaking digital logistics platform developed in collaboration with TruKKer, the region’s largest digital freight network. This strategic initiative is poised to revolutionize the logistics and freight transportation landscape in Dubai, cementing the city’s status as a global logistics hub.
Transforming Freight Transport Through Innovation
Logisty aims to streamline commercial transport services for businesses and customers by offering advanced solutions for fleet management, on-demand booking, and real-time tracking. The platform incorporates cutting-edge technologies, such as an AI-powered CBM (Cubic Meter) Calculator that allows users to estimate shipment volumes through photos or videos, making it one of the most innovative tools in the industry.
Driving Economic Growth and Competitiveness
Speaking at the launch, Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the RTA, highlighted the platform’s alignment with Dubai’s visionary plans. “The Logisty platform embodies His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision of enhancing Dubai’s global competitiveness in finance, business, and logistics. This initiative supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which seeks to position Dubai among the top three global economic cities.”
The Dubai Commercial Road Transport & Logistics Strategy 2030 underpins this project, with ambitious goals to double the sector’s contribution to the emirate’s economy to AED 16.8 billion, increase technology adoption by 75%, and enhance operational efficiency by 10%. Logisty plays a pivotal role in advancing these objectives, leveraging data-driven technologies to transform logistics operations.
Expanding Dubai’s Logistics Ecosystem
Logisty is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency for Dubai’s logistics sector, which includes over 10,000 commercial transport companies. With a remarkable annual growth rate of 34% over the last five years, the sector has been a key driver of the city’s economic development. In 2023 alone, the transport and storage industry contributed AED 31.4 billion to Dubai’s GDP, accounting for 42.8% of the city’s total economic activity.
Meeting Evolving Market Demands
The platform is launching at a time when e-commerce and logistics demands are surging globally. Logisty addresses these demands by providing seamless, reliable, and technology-driven solutions. Businesses and consumers can look forward to enhanced transparency, efficiency, and security in freight transportation.
Supporting the Future of Logistics
Logisty’s introduction is a testament to the RTA’s commitment to fostering public-private partnerships. By collaborating with TruKKer, the RTA leverages cutting-edge technologies to deliver innovative services that align with global standards and best practices.
The platform is set to officially launch its services to customers in December 2024, further propelling Dubai’s logistics sector into a new era of growth and innovation. As part of the broader Dubai Commercial Road Transport & Logistics Strategy, Logisty underscores the city’s role as a leader in the global logistics and freight industry.
This initiative not only enhances the user experience with its efficient and seamless services but also reinforces Dubai’s position as a pioneer in adopting future-forward technologies for sustainable economic growth.
