Dubai has once again proven its reputation as a global business hub, with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce announcing an impressive milestone for 2024. Over 70,000 new companies joined the chamber this year, bringing the total number of active members to more than 258,000. A Year of Record-Breaking Achievements
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, recorded several notable accomplishments this year. Among the highlights:
- Exports and Re-exports: For the first time in history, the value of exports and re-exports by chamber members exceeded AED 300 billion, reaching AED 309.6 billion—a 9.2% annual growth.
- Certificates of Origin: The chamber issued 791,115 Certificates of Origin, marking an 8% increase from 2023.
- ATA Carnets: Over 5,300 ATA Carnets for goods were issued and received, with a total value of AED 4.3 billion.
His Excellency Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, attributed this success to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. “Dubai continues to solidify its status as a global business hub and a platform for growth,” he said.
Empowering the Business Ecosystem
Dubai Chamber of Commerce plays a crucial role in supporting the business community. In 2024, the chamber collaborated with Business Groups to review 107 laws, offering recommendations that achieved a 58% adoption rate. It also facilitated over 170 meetings with Business Groups, Councils, and government entities, ensuring a collaborative and forward-looking business environment.
Nine new Business Councils were established, representing investors from nations including Greece, Mexico, and South Korea. These councils help foster international ties and offer businesses the tools they need to thrive in Dubai’s dynamic market.
Legal Support and Corporate Sustainability
To ensure businesses remain compliant with regulations, the chamber organized 38 legal awareness workshops, attended by nearly 2,700 private sector representatives. Additionally, its Centre for Responsible Business launched a new ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) label to promote corporate sustainability. This initiative recognized 27 companies in 2024, further solidifying Dubai’s commitment to sustainable business practices.
